Adding the widget
Forge is really a widget, the app is where you configure it.
iPhone, Lock Screen
- Touch and hold your Lock Screen, then tap Customize
- Tap Lock Screen
- Tap the area under the clock, then choose Forge
- Tap Done
iPhone, Home Screen
- Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen
- Tap Edit, then Add Widget
- Search for Forge and pick a size
Android, Home Screen
- Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen
- Tap Widgets, then find Forge
- Drag the size you want onto the screen. Touch and hold it afterwards to resize it
Android does not support Lock Screen widgets on phones, so on Android Forge is a Home Screen widget and reminders.
The widget is not updating
Widgets are refreshed by the system on its own schedule rather than continuously, so a change can take a few minutes to appear. If it seems stuck:
- Open Forge once, this pushes your current settings to the widget
- On iPhone, check Settings → General → Background App Refresh is on
- On Android, check Forge is not being restricted under Settings → Apps → Forge → Battery
- Remove the widget and add it again
I bought the unlock but it still shows as locked
Open Settings → Restore purchase in the app. Purchases are tied to the store account you bought with, your Apple ID or your Google account, so this works on any device signed into that account, including a new phone.
If it still does not appear, check you are signed into the same account you bought with, then email us.
Moving to a new phone
Your purchase moves automatically, install Forge and tap Restore purchase.
On iPhone, your saved lines and settings move with you if you have iCloud enabled, either by restoring from a backup or through iCloud sync. On Android they move with a device backup. If neither was turned on, they stay on the old device and cannot be recovered.
I am not getting reminders
- Check notifications are allowed for Forge, in Settings → Notifications on iPhone or Settings → Apps → Forge on Android
- Reminders only arrive between the hours shown in the app, never overnight
- Open the app occasionally. There is a system limit on how many reminders can be queued ahead, so opening Forge tops them back up
Cancelling a subscription
On iPhone, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android, open Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions. The Lifetime unlock is a single payment and has nothing to cancel.
Refunds are handled by the store: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or Google Play refunds.
Reporting a quote
If a quote is wrongly attributed, or you think one does not belong, please tell us. Attributions are checked against the original works and we would rather fix a mistake than leave it. Suggestions for new lines are welcome too.
